My Story
It began with my own wellness journey. I had spent years dealing with health challenges, looking for answers, and trying to understand how I could take a more active role in caring for my health instead of simply accepting that this was just the way things were going to be. Then, I met an herbalist at church. She introduced me to a world I knew very little about at the time, and I became fascinated. Herbs led to more herbs. Questions led to research, research led to experimenting, and before long I was making things and learning everything I could get my hands on. But there was another part of it that mattered even more to me. My faith changed the way I saw all of it. The more I learned about plants and the incredible complexity of the human body, the more I found myself looking at creation differently. These weren’t just ingredients in jars. I began to appreciate, in a much deeper way, the provision God had placed all around us. At that point, I wasn’t trying to build a business. I was learning because I needed to learn. I was making things because I wanted them for myself and my family. But somewhere along the way, I realized: I might actually be able to help people with this. And THAT was the beginning of King’s Mortar & Pestle. On January 7, 2020, I officially started the business. It was me, my herbs, my mortar and pestle, a whole lot of studying, probably more jars than any reasonable person needs to own, and a desire to make something that could genuinely serve people. I was just taking the next step. And then another. And another. That’s really how this business has grown. I’ve continued learning. I’ve continued studying herbalism. I became a Certified Holistic Health Coach. The products grew, the vision grew, and eventually I began to understand that what I wanted to offer people was bigger than what could ever fit inside a bottle, jar, tea bag, or extract. Because wellness is personal. Real people have complicated lives. We have families and jobs and stress and budgets and health concerns. We don’t always eat perfectly. We don’t always do what we know we’re supposed to do. And sometimes we don’t need somebody standing over us telling us everything we’re doing wrong. Sometimes we need somebody willing to walk alongside us while we figure out what our next right step is. That has become a huge part of what I want KMP to be. Today, King’s Mortar & Pestle is growing into something I never could have fully pictured when I started in January of 2020. Tim is stepping into this next season with me, KMP Resources and KMP Innovations are taking shape, and the vision has grown into Kingdom Endeavors Group. But underneath all of those names, plans, products, and ideas is still the same reason I started. I learned because I needed answers. I kept learning because I fell in love with it. And I built King’s Mortar & Pestle because I realized what I was learning could help somebody else. Six years later, I’m still learning. I’m still growing. And I’m still taking the next step. And then another. And another. Nature’s provision, crafted with purpose.
